Vintage Ben Aipa Twinfin Surfboard bertlemann Stripe

Aloha from Hawaii,  Much Respect for Ben Aipa and Larry Bertlemann. I am listing this beautiful late 70′s AIPA Twinfin 5′ 11″x20 1/4″x 3″ today for someone else to enjoy. All dings completely fixed, 100% watertight, 100% original other than I had to put new finboxes in it, fix the tail section & other dings (rail chatters) and re-shot the glosscoats. It comes with the original vintage transparent yellow tint Twinfins that came with the board, but they too were spray-painted black when I acquired it, so I refurbished those as well and replaced one of the spring pins that was rusted. This board is now surfable once again and ready to get vertical. The all original and famous “Bertlemann Stripe” colorscheme is alittle faded on the deck red/yellow/aquablue…the blue looks sort of greenish. I did not re-spray any color, but did do my best to match the colorscheme when I put the finboxes with pigmented resin. I like to keep boards as original as possible when I refurbish them.   I will be listing the AIPA Stinger in the photo soon also, it will be available after I finish the repairs I am doing on it. I believe it is the same board as in the 360* cutback photo of Ben Aipa that I have shown, but not 100% sure of that, looks exactly like it and has the same exact fin…who knows? Either way, Aipa has contributed many cool shapes in the history of the evolution of the surfboard and here’s a couple of examples.   I originally acquired this board from a good friend that lived by Sunset Point on Oahu’s North Shore. It’s a classic!   I charge a $50 fee to bubblewrap, pack, box & deliver to FedEx at the Kona Airport, buyer pays actual shipping cost and if you have an account set up with FedEx then you pay them directly and get a discounted shipping rate too. Bonus.  Feel free to ask any questions before bidding. I am very busy with boardwork, but will do my best to answer any questions I can in the best timely fashion as possible. As Larry Bertlemann would say, “Anything is Possible.”    Peace & much aloha,    Tim Orr   Pure Life Surfboards Hawaii
